Statement from the Camelot Foundation Trustees

After a decade of supporting young people's charities around the UK the Camelot Foundation will be closing on 31 March 2008. All of our grant programmes are now permanently closed, and therefore regrettably we cannot accept any new grant requests.

As already stated existing commitments to beneficiaries will be met from funds already set aside for the purpose.

The last ten years have seen an investment of over £20million in a range of projects run by organisations working with some of the most vulnerable and marginalised young people in our society.

As the charitable foundation of National Lottery providers Camelot Group plc, we have been privileged to work alongside many inspiring young people, project workers, trusts and foundations and sector leaders, to assist with efforts to re -connect young people with our many communities.

Importantly we will be leaving behind the legacy achieved by the investment in so many organisations large and small. A number of our recently funded projects, including an online support service for young people affected by self-harm, will be launched over the next year and we hope that will prove to a be a lasting legacy from which many thousands of young people can benefit.

I would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of the team at Camelot Foundation and its trustees, to wish you well in future endeavours and to thank you for your commitment to the Foundation over recent years.

Director
